Worship is the act of loving and responding to God! Through the heart-warming, conservative music and the clear, Bible teaching and preaching in our services, your heart will be inspired to love and to respond to God. Each week, families are strengthened, encouraged, and drawn closer to Him through these special times together. Each service is carefully planned and prayed over so that God may work in your life!
The Bible is an extremely powerful book. It has answers and practical applications for any situation you might be facing, and at First Baptist Church, it is our desire to help you apply Bible truths to your everyday life. Some of the best and most helpful counseling you can receive is from Pastor Carr’s weekly preaching services. From these messages you will learn what the Bible says, why it’s important, and how to apply it to your life.
If you live in the Miami Valley area and have a specific need that you would like to speak to a pastor or counselor about, we would love to hear from you and schedule a time to meet your needs. We will give biblical principles for marriage, family, finances, and other spiritual needs. You can email us, or call the church office at 937-746-1407
Every week, Christians are becoming grounded in their faith and learning answers to their spiritual questions. The Continue discipleship program has been found to be cross-culturally relevant and biblically sound. When you enroll in discipleship, you will be placed with an experienced Christian who will help guide you in your new-found faith.
Connection groups for all ages meet every Sunday at 10 a.m. This is a great opportunity for fellowship, meet new friends, learn about upcoming activities, and of course to learn the Bible together. Adult classes offer coffee and refreshments.
Just as the early Christians went from house to house as stated in the Book of Acts, we likewise at FBC meet every Saturday at 11 a.m. to take the Gospel Jesus Christ and share the good news to those in our community.
Mark 16:15 says, “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Here at FBC we seek to obey the Lord’s great commission not only here at home, but also across the sea by supporting and sending missionaries. We currently support just over 50 missionaries who are scattered around the world preaching the gospel. See Global Outreach for more information.
Each week we visit and minister in local nursing homes. For some we are the only visit they receive in a weeks time. We receive such a blessing by going to be a blessing.
Every other month the widows of our church will meet together for fellowship. Periodically they will take a day trip. Usually they will meet at a restaurant and just seek to encourage each other and enjoy the fellowship and presence of one another.
Every Thursday the retired men of the church will meet at 10 a.m. for donuts and coffee in our fellowship hall building. From there they will do various jobs around the church from emptying all the garbage, to cleaning the buildings to making needed repairs. This is a great opportunity for them to take their talents and often their skill that they used for a career and use it for the Lord. Many of the senior ladies also come to assist in the cleaning of the buildings.
